Google Assistant

The Google Assistant is a virtual assistant powered by artificial intelligence and developed by Google that is primarily available on mobile and smart home devices. The Assistant is able to search the Internet, schedule events and alarms, adjust hardware settings on the user’s device, and show information from the user’s Google account. Google has also announced that the Assistant will be able to identify objects and gather visual information through the device’s camera, and support purchasing products and sending money, as well as identifying songs.

Lenovo Smart Assistant

Built in collaboration with Amazon, the elegantly designed Lenovo Smart Assistant recognizes users’ voice commands and uses Alexa to conduct web searches, play music, create lists, provide calendar updates and much more.

Tmall Genie

Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba launched the smart speaker Tmall Genie X1  , elbowing its way into the crowded digital voice assistant market where there’re already big name incumbents like Amazon, Apple, Google, and JD.

Mycroft AI

Mycroft is the world’s first open source voice assistant. It can run anywhere – on a desktop computer, inside an automobile, it even runs on a Raspberry Pi. It is open so it can be remixed, extended, improved. It can be used in anything from a science project to an enterprise software application.

Amazon Alexa

Amazon Alexa is a virtual assistant developed by Amazon. It is capable of voice interaction, music playback, making to-do lists, setting alarms, streaming podcasts, playing audiobooks, and providing weather, traffic, sports, and other real-time information, such as news. Alexa can also control several smart devices using itself as a home automation system. Users are able to extend the Alexa capabilities by installing “skills” (additional functionality developed by third-party vendors, in other settings more commonly called apps such as weather programs and audio features).

Josh Micro is the latest installment from Josh.ai. This puck sized device houses the entire Josh processor, including automatic device discovery and configuration, language processing, learning, and more. We’ve packed the hardware with sensors to detect motion, ambient light, temperature, humidity, and touch.
